Technical & Production Development Manager (M/F)

Violaine d’Harcourtis a design and production studio for lighting fixtures based in Lisbon. Combining artisanal know-how and a contemporary line, we develop collections entirely made in Portugal, between our Lisbon workshop and our partners in the north of the country. Joining our team means entering a creative and demanding house, in full growth, driven by a sensitive and distinctive vision of design. In a period of significant growth, we are looking for a Technical & Production Manager to oversee the industrial development of our lighting manufacturing. As the interface between the design team and production, you ensure the technical feasibility, quality, and compliance of our products. A true technical right-hand, you guarantee the smooth running of projects and adherence to our quality standards.

Missions

Technical management & product development

• Participate in the development phase: feasibility analysis, technical choices, prototyping.
• Select components (wiring, bulbs, connectors, materials, etc.).
• Carry out or supervise technical tests.
• Ensure product compliance with applicable standards (CE, RoHS, UL, etc.).
• Manage certifications for different markets (Europe, US, Australia, Middle East and Asia).

Production management & monitoring

• Plan and monitor production launches (in-house or subcontracted).
• Define manufacturing ranges, technical sheets, and procedures.
• Coordinate logistics flows and supplies (components, machined parts, etc.).
• Supervise assemblies, fittings, and controls.

Quality & Compliance

• Implement quality control procedures at production output.
• Manage electrical, safety, and durability tests.
• Keep technical documentation up to date (compliance files, drawings, certificates, etc.).

External Relations

• Identify and qualify new suppliers.
• Communicate with manufacturers, subcontractors, and testing laboratories when necessary.

Profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience in an industrial environment, preferably within the lighting or luminaire sector.
• Strong technical background: electrical components, machining, finishes.
• In-depth knowledge of lighting standards (CE, UL, RoHS, IP, etc.).
• Proficiency in production planning and monitoring tools.
• Comfortable with CAD tools and technical documentation.
• Ability to work in projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Portuguese highly appreciated for communication with manufacturers and suppliers/English essential (international internal team)
• Autonomy, rigor, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with both creative and technical profiles.
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
