Our client is a prestigious Empresa, a leader in its market, part of a solid industrial group, and is looking to recruit for the following Cargo:

Chief Accountant (M/F) – to work in the Alenquer region

Reporting Line:

Reports to the Subsidiary Director and to the Group Chief Financial Officer (Head Office).

Functional Relationships:

Works closely with all departments, subsidiaries, and the parent Empresa.

Externally, liaises with banks, certified accountants, and statutory auditors.

Works autonomously following the manager’s instructions and the parent Empresa’s guidelines.

Responsible for all accounting and financial flows in accordance with accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure the maintenance of general accounts, payroll records, contributions, daily operations, and monthly and annual financial statements, in collaboration with the accounting firm to ensure mirrored accounting.
• Manage banking operations, cash flow, bank reconciliations, and forecasting.
• Analyze and verify accounts on a monthly basis with the TIMP accounting team and review analytical accounting.
• Prepare and ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts.
• Analyze and justify year-end closing accounts (cut-off).
• Manage fixed assets, including creation, monitoring, and inventory maintenance.
• Ensure accounting control over supplier entries, site treasury, and expense reports.
• Monitor projects with project managers, including cost control and project invoicing.
• Ensure and prepare monthly client invoicing and accounting.
• Monitor disputes and follow up on client payments.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in English and French (ideal candidate).
• Strong accounting skills and in-depth knowledge.
• Knowledge of tax and accounting regulations.
• Proficiency in office software and ERP systems.
• Valid Certified Accountant (CA) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles (preferred).
• Knowledge of Portuguese taxation.
• Strong IT skills (Excel and accounting software).
• Strong sense of responsibility, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
