The Role: Senior Data Engineer

Localização: Lisbon

Work Model: 4 days onsite (Primeira 3 months), then is 3 days a week onsite - Lisbon Oriente

Sector: Financial Services

️ Languages: English (B2 - C1)

Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who feels at Início in AWS, speaks fluent SQL, and doesn't panic when someone says "streaming + batch + performance optimization."

This is a long-term project for someone who wants to work with modern architectures, stay sharp through certifications/training, and continuously improve how data flows across the business.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid AWS experience (>5 years) - S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS/SQS, IAM, CloudWatch
• Advanced SQL skills + analytical databases experience.
• Solid Python (Pandas, Boto3).
• Strong understanding of data architecture & governance.
• Proven experience building data pipelines.
• Agile in mindset (collaborative, humble, growth-driven).
• Detail-oriented and performance-focused.
• Proactive, solution-driven, and comfortable with deadlines.

Bonus points if you also have:

• Snowflake expertise (certification is a bonus).
• CI/CD, orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions, Prefect).
• GitHub/GitLab.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• DBT core, Tableau.
• AWS certification (e.g., Solution Architect).

️ What You'll Be Doing:

• Design and build high-performance batch & streaming data pipelines (AWS + Snowflake).
• Transform raw data (APIs, FTP/SFTP, etc.) into structured, reliable datasets.
• Model data (tables, views, procedures) and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Ensure monitoring, testing, governance, and overall data quality.
• Collaborate with analysts and teams to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.
