We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer

You'll work in a collaborative, senior-level engineering team that values systems thinking, C4 architecture modelling, and clear estimation practices. This role is full-time and offers Início working flexibility.

Your future role will include

• Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems using PHP (Laravel) and other modern frameworks and languages.
• Using C4 modelling and architectural thinking to design new features and systems.
• Participating in the full development lifecycle: concept, estimation, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and optimisation.
• Working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-value features on time.
• Championing systems thinking, helping ensure technical choices align with business goals.
• Maintaining a strong focus on code quality, performance, and security.

You're going to need this to be successful in this role

• 5+ years of professional development experience, with experience in PHP/Laravel.
• Experience in at least one other modern language or framework – ideally .NET Core, Go, Kotlin/Native/Multiplatform. Alternatively, experience in Node.js or Python.
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Experience creating or working with C4 diagrams and system architecture documentation.
• Proven ability to estimate work accurately and deliver within agreed timelines.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and Linux environments.
• Experience with o11y tools.
• Advanced English.

It's nice if you also have

• Experience with Docker and containerised deployments in a Terraform environment.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and/or certification.
• Background in event-driven systems or microservices.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools.
