Principal Solution Engineer

Main responsibilities

The Principal Solution Engineer will be responsible for leading architecture design, requirements management, and systems development activities across complex and large-scale initiatives.

Key duties include:

• Solution Architecture
• Requirements Definition & Management
• Systems Development Management
• Network Design

Mandatory requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 5 years of post‑graduate experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of mobile and deployable communication infrastructure technologies.
• Experience in systems design and integration, including:
  • AC power distribution
  • Emergency power generation
  • UPS systems and supporting infrastructure
• Solid understanding of wireless technologies, including SATCOM.
• Experience with architecture modelling languages (e.g., UML, SysML, ArchiMate) within recognised frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, NAF, DoDAF, Zachman).
• Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Demonstrated application of quality assurance practices.
• Hands‑on experience across the full lifecycle of communication systems (development, deployment, testing, maintenance).

Certifications

• ITIL Foundation certification.
• PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent (e.g., PMP).

Nice‑to‑have requirements

• PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent (e.g., PMP).
• TOGAF, ArchiMate, or equivalent certification.
