Join us as a Procurement and Purchases Manager, based in Setúbal

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement and purchasing function, with a strong focus on supplier sourcing, negotiation, cost control, and purchase order management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, lead times, and payment terms to secure the best value without compromising quality.
  • Manage end-to-end purchasing processes, from requisition through to delivery, ensuring materials and components arrive on time to support production schedules.
  • Monitor stock levels, lead times, and supply risk in close coordination with the production and warehouse teams on-site, anticipating shortages before they become bottlenecks.
  • Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Review and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with quality, commercial, and delivery standards.
  • Develop a strong understanding of how the Empresa operates end to end, connecting procurement decisions with production and commercial reality.
  • Contribute with a proactive, hands-on attitude and a willingness to learn across different supply chain topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or operations, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset and confidence working in Excel and purchasing/ERP platforms.
  • Skilled negotiator, comfortable managing multiple suppliers and competing priorities.
  • Dynamic, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of how a business operates, with the ability to connect purchasing decisions with production and financial outcomes.
  • As a plus, familiarity with sourcing raw materials or components for manufacturing (wood, acoustic materials, electronics, hardware, etc.).
