Voice Core Engineer (Circruit Switch Core / IMS / 5G) – Contract Opportunity

We’re partnering with a leading Telecoms Engineering Services Empresa to find an experienced Voice Core Engineer to support complex, large-scale network initiatives.

Localização: Lisbon (2 days per week in-office)

Contract: 9 months

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in the design, integration, and delivery of advanced Voice Core solutions across CS, IMS, and 5G domains, aligned with 3GPP standards and global architecture principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and specification of Voice Core hardware & software solutions
• Deliver integration, deployment, and expansion across platforms such as MSS/MGW, STP, DRA, HSS/HLR, SBC, CSCF, TAS, UDR, AUSF, UDM, IBCF
• Coordinate integration and acceptance testing for new software releases
• Contribute to low-level design documentation and implementation guidelines
• Support end-to-end project delivery (planning, risk management, reporting)
• Prepare Work Orders for Change Management and Operations
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network performance and customer experience

Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise in CS, IMS, and 5G Voice Core architectures
• Deep knowledge of protocols: SIP, Diameter, SS7, MAP (+ HTTP2, REST, JSON, SOAP, TLS, SQL)
• Proven experience delivering complex, multi-vendor telecom projects
• Solid understanding of the full system lifecycle (design → deployment → optimisation)
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Voice Core engineering or delivery
• Strong communication skills in international environments

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent
• Broad knowledge of telecom and cloud ecosystems (IP networking, interoperability)
• Experience integrating network elements with IT and operational platforms
