Senior QA Automation Engineer

Localização: Remote (from Portugal)

Experience: 7+ years

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in test automation and Agile delivery to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality software delivery across complex telecom and B2B systems, with a strong focus on automation, cloud testing, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional & Automation Testing

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Robot Framework and Playwright
• Execute manual testing for complex scenarios where automation is not feasible
• Perform end-to-end testing across web, APIs, backend systems, and data flows
• Develop and maintain API automation using Postman and RESTAssured

2. QA Ownership & Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams in an Agile environment
• Take ownership of test strategy, planning, and execution at story and sprint level
• Mentor junior QA engineers on automation, API testing, and CI/CD practices
• Maintain clear and structured documentation (e.g., Confluence)

3. Test Management & Reporting

• Manage test cycles, test plans, and reporting
• Execute test cases and track defects using JIRA/Xray
• Ensure structured defect management and traceability

4. Continuous Improvement

• Drive innovation in QA by proposing improvements in automation and processes
• Explore and implement AI-driven testing approaches where relevant

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of QA experience, including 2–3 years in automation
• Strong hands-on experience with Robot Framework, Selenium
• Experience in Telecom / B2B domain
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and story-level testing
• Experience with cloud testing in GCP
• Strong knowledge of SQL / MySQL
• Programming/scripting skills in Python and/or JavaScript
• Experience with API test automation (Postman, RESTAssured)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) using Docker / Docker Compose
• Experience with test management tools (JIRA, Xray)
• ISTQB certification (or equivalent)
