Senior Cloud Architect (GCP) – B2B Contract | Hybrid (Lisbon)

We’re working with a leading organisation looking to hire a Senior Cloud Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a high-impact role combining technical leadership, client engagement, and cloud transformation at scale.

The Role

You’ll act as a trusted technical advisor, leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures. This role blends hands-on architecture with strategic input across cloud transformation, pre-sales, and innovation—particularly within AI/ML on GCP.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, automation)
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying opportunities for digital transformation and modernisation
• Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineering, infrastructure, automation)
• Support pre-sales and consulting, including technical proposals and solution design
• Define cloud migration and transformation roadmaps (hybrid/multi-cloud)
• Promote best practices in governance, security, automation, and cost optimisation
• Mentor internal teams and drive technical knowledge sharing
• Design and integrate AI/ML solutions on GCP, including:
• Vertex AI
• BigQuery ML
• AI Platform
• Generative AI use cases

Technical Skills

• 8+ years’ experience in cloud architecture and implementation, with strong focus on GCP
• Deep understanding of:
• Landing zones
• Cloud governance
• Networking
• Identity & security
• Automation
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Experience in cloud migration and modernisation (rehost, replatform, refactor)

Nice to Have

• Containerisation & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE)
• Experience with GCP data & AI services (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Pub/Sub)
• Experience with generative AI / LLM integration in enterprise environments

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and technical storytelling skills
• Client-facing experience with the ability to influence stakeholders
• Strategic mindset with strong business alignment
• Proven leadership across cross-functional teams
• Proactive, autonomous, and innovation-driven

Certifications (Preferred)

• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer

Languages

• Fluent Portuguese (mandatory)
• English (B2/C1 minimum)
