IT Platform Engineer (Contract) – B2B | Hybrid

We’re partnering with a global organisation looking for an experienced IT Platform Engineer to join their Corporate Design & Development team. This role is focused on building and evolving highly automated, scalable cloud platforms within a modern DevOps environment.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and optimising a highly automated hybrid cloud platform, driving infrastructure modernisation and DevOps best practices across a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering

• Design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure solutions across AWS and Nutanix
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance

Automation & Scripting

• Develop automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Rundeck
• Build REST APIs and automated workflows for infrastructure provisioning and management

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Implement and manage IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
• Standardise and automate cloud and hybrid environments

Infrastructure Optimisation

• Modernise legacy systems into cloud-native or hybrid architectures
• Improve performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability

Collaboration

• Work closely with service delivery, data, integration, and architecture teams

Documentation & Best Practices

• Produce technical documentation, standards, and operational guidelines
• Ensure consistency and compliance across infrastructure environments

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Automation Engineer
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
• Proven experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, ECS, ELB, Lambda, etc.)
• Experience working in hybrid cloud environments
• Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or Rundeck)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of infrastructure and system design

Nice to Have

• Experience with Nutanix
• Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Linux systems administration

Background & Profile

• Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or similar
• Autonomous, proactive, and innovation-driven mindset
• Strong problem-solving skills in complex, global environments
• Adaptable to new technologies and evolving challenges

Languages

• Fluent English and Portuguese (mandatory)
