Smart Energy LAB is a Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) held by EDP Comercial, Accenture, Instituto Superior Técnico, Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon, University of Coimbra, INESCTEC and INESC ID.

In order to create the future, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer, that will perform tasks such:

· Participate in and improve installation workflows, including planning, field support, and documentation.

· Follow and adapt standard procedures for commissioning and verification of energy systems.

· Conduct site surveys and support the installation processes.

· Prepare and review technical documentation.

· Guide and mentor junior engineers or technicians.

· Delegate tasks, support troubleshooting, and promote good engineering practices within the team.

· Communicate effectively with field teams, internal stakeholders, and occasional clients.

What we are looking for:

· Hands-on experience in energy systems, installations, or IoT-based projects (a plus).

· Basic understanding of firmware or embedded systems (a plus).

Specific Skills Required

· Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

· 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical or energy systems.

· Experience with electrical panels, hardware integration, and on-site installations.

· Familiarity with energy management systems and IoT architectures (e.g., Modbus, MQTT).

· Understanding of site surveys, commissioning, and standard field procedures.

· Ability to work with firmware or embedded systems (a bonus, not mandatory).

· Proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members.

· Skilled in delegating, supporting team troubleshooting, and upholding high engineering standards.

· Fluent English.

Localização: Lisbon, Portugal

Employees need to have Portuguese tax residency, and be located in Lisbon Region.

Cargo sponsored by Portuguese R&D Funding Project: 12 months contract, with possibility to renew to permanent contract after the Primeira contracting period.
