As a Senior Application Support Engineer – Cloud and Automation, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the tech industry dedicated to maintaining the stability, performance, and reliability of production applications. Your expertise will ensure seamless operations, foster continuous improvement, and support innovative projects that enhance user experience across global markets. This role offers a platform for strategic impact and career growth in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.
Your main responsibilities:
- Provide advanced support for production applications, including incident investigation, resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Lead high-priority incidents end-to-end, coordinating effectively with development, infrastructure, and product teams.
- Improve and maintain monitoring, alerting, and operational documentation (runbooks, SOPs).
- Lead or contribute to operational and improvement projects such as upgrades, automation, and new application rollouts.
- Mentor junior support engineers and share best practices across the team.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to deliver 24/7 critical application support, with shifts starting as early as 6:00 AM or extending until 7:00 PM, ensuring comprehensive coverage for a global user base.
- Ensure seamless handover and clear communication of ongoing issues across shifts to maintain operational continuity.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- 7+ years of experience in application support or DevOps in a cloud environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux OS, with hands-on experience with app servers such as HAProxy, Apache, or IIS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell, Python.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix and Grafana.
- Familiarity with middleware solutions such as Axway API Gateway.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems like Snow and Jira, scheduling tools such as Control-M.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools including Confluence, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, XLDeploy, XLRelease, and BitBucket.
- Cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation tools like Terraform.
- Experience with infrastructure automation in OpenShift.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certifications in cloud platforms or support engineering.
- Experience with network security or database support.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is a must.
