Reporting to the Commercial and Bid Operations Manager, the Bid Manager has responsibility for the Operational bid activities. The role combines leadership of complex bid processes with technical and operational, commercial oversight, ensuring robust offer bid preparation, contractual compliance and financial discipline.
The selected person may be based in any of our main offices located in Lisbon (Portugal)

- The Bid Manager must demonstrate a proven ability to effectively engage and deliver results across this diverse organisation and be prepared to work additional hours and travel domestically and internationally when necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Bid Manager will be involved in in major bids supporting our growth business strategy.
- Support the Commercial and Bid Operations Manager with the coordination of a multidisciplinary bid team to deliver high-quality, compliant submission within the deadline and budget.
- Assist in defining the bid strategy, resource requirements, governance, and approval routes in line with Delegation of Authority.
- Assist with bid planning, scheduling, internal reviews, and lessons learned processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting to the Commercial and Bid Operations Manager on the bid process.
- Ensure strict compliance with tender documentation, internal processes, and external regulatory requirements.
- Support negotiation phases and transition from bid to contract mobilisation.
- Provide commercial leadership post-award where required, supporting contract execution, risk management, and profitability.
- Prepare reports relating to the bid, risks, and commercial performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial and bid processes, audits, and governance frameworks.
- Support bid/no-bid evaluations by assessing strategic fit, operational capability, commercial viability, and risk.
- Manage bid clarifications, assumptions, and document control throughout the tender process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Maintain the bid risk and opportunity register, ensuring mitigation actions are tracked and escalated where appropriate.
- Coordinate development of win themes, value proCargos, and customer-focused messaging to strengthen bid competitiveness.
- Ensure robust version control, governance, and quality assurance of all submission documents prior to final submission.
- Capture lessons learned and maintain bid content, templates, and supporting material to improve future bid effectiveness and efficiency.
- Support programme management activities by coordinating cross-functional workstreams, tracking milestones, dependencies, and deliverables, and ensuring alignment between bid commitments and implementation planning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related discipline.
- Training or strong experience in bid, contract, or project management.
- Strong commercial, legal, and financial understanding.
- Fluent in French and English; additional languages advantageous.
