Company Description Quinta do Carmo is a former 16th century Carmelite monastery with extensive gardens. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Gardener at Quinta do Carmo, located in Colares, Sintra. The Head Gardener will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of the gardens and landscapes. This includes daily tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning, and watering plants. The role also involves managing irrigation systems, and ensuring the overall health and aesthetics of the gardens. The Head Gardener will coordinate a team of 2 gardeners . Qualifications Landscape Maintenance, Gardening, and Landscaping skills Familiarity with various Irrigation techniques and systems Experience in Garden Design and implementation of garden layouts Good leadership and team management skills Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Knowledge of plant care and garden maintenance best practices Relevant certifications or degrees in horticulture or related fields are essential. Some knowledge of Porutuese ir a willingness to learn the basics. Must have European residence Visa or citizenship
