Senior DeFi Engineer – Up to €100K base

Amicus has recently partnered with an exciting startup in the Web3 space, who are on a mission to redefine digital asset management, empowering investors with professional-grade tools, risk models, and strategy engines.

They're backed by leading investors, move fast, and build with purpose. Their vision is to become the definitive platform bridging DeFi and TradFi, combining deep strategy, smart infrastructure, and rigorous risk modeling.

They're currently searching for a senior backend-oriented engineer with a strong foundation in Python and a passion for crypto, finance, and DeFi.

Responsbilities:

• Design, build, and iterate on MVPs for DeFi strategy and risk products.
• Model and test leveraged yield, lending, and LP strategies across protocols.
• Analyze and monitor strategy performance using real-time and historical data.
• Develop tools to support automated strategy evaluation and risk modeling.
• Collaborate with product and strategy leads to rapidly bring ideas to life.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with Python (backend or data-heavy environments).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in DeFi, working with real strategies/products.
• Deep understanding of DeFi market mechanics — AMMs, order books, and protocols.
• Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication and independent problem-solving skills.
• Able to commute to Lisbon 2 days per week.

Nice to Haves:

• Familiarity with Solidity — can read/test/interact with contracts.
• Experience building or contributing to DeFi strategy engines or risk tools.
• Background in quantitative finance, data science, or mathematics.
• Experience with Web3 SDKs and blockchain infrastructure (The Graph, Infura, Alchemy).

Benefits:

• €80K - €100K base salary.
