IT/OT Manager

Hiire is helping one of its clients to hire the first IT/OT Manager to oversee the operations of a new factory in the north of Portugal.

About the Role

Are you passionate about bridging IT and OT to drive operational excellence? As an IT/OT Manager, youll lead the charge in ensuring seamless IT/OT operations, supporting critical manufacturing systems, and aligning with global standards. This role offers the chance to innovate, solve complex challenges, and make a tangible impact on a dynamic production environment.

What Youll Do

Lead and Manage IT/OT Operations:

• Oversee IT/OT infrastructure, including servers, networks, communication platforms, and access control systems;

• Ensure business continuity by maintaining backups, managing licenses, and supporting ERP systems;

• Manage wired and wireless network traffic to meet site needs.

Drive Continuous Improvement:

• Optimize the performance of IT/OT systems to ensure uninterrupted production;

• Maintain and enhance security in compliance with ISO 27001 and GDPR regulations;

• Lead training initiatives for users with varying levels of IT/OT expertise.

Collaborate and Innovate:

• Represent the FEL Site in global IT/OT forums;

• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of IT/OT solutions;

• Implement global IT/OT projects locally with precision.

Strategic and Operational Oversight:

• Develop and manage IT/OT-related budgets and forecasts;

• Create documentation, reports, and procedures to enhance operational transparency;

• Ensure compliance with global and local regulations, including cleanroom standards for production.

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, IT Engineering, or Software Development;

• 5+ years of IT-related experience, particularly in manufacturing;

• Strong project management skills, especially in IT project implementation;

• Hands-on experience with SQL and CCNA certification.

It would be a plus if you have:

• Knowledge of manufacturing protocols (e.g., Factory Talk, OPC Server);

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO27001);

• Experience with industrial computers, HMI interfaces, and PLC systems;

• Expertise in virtual environments like vSphere and Hyper-V.
