Overview The Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion Research Group conducts both fundamental and application-oriented research on materials and devices for energy storage and conversion. We are looking for a qualified Research Fellow to join our team under the PRR framework, and work on the Lithium-based compounds for battery components project, for the New Generation Storage Agenda.
Job Duties The job duties will be the following:

• Perform the R&D activities as planned in the project;
• Collaborate with other academic and industry partners within the consortium on joint R&D;
• Regularly report to supervisor and project leader(s) on R&D progress;
• Publish project results and communicate the results in project/professional meetings;
• Engage in other project dissemination activities.

Mandatory Qualifications
Education

• PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Nanotechnology or other related field.

Experience

• Hands-on experience in synthesis of battery materials, particularly in cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries;
• Extensive knowledge of battery chemistry, structural characterisation of materials and electrochemical performance assessment and characterisation;
• Good track-record on cathode materials research, preferably on high-voltage cathode materials (e.g., LNMO), in the form of scientific publications and/or patents as the leading author;
• Competences in project results dissemination, e.g. publications in scientific journals and presentations at professional meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge on the preparation surface coatings.
